DA A began as an encounter between furniture design and heavy engineering: making furniture with the tools and skills used to build the buckets, arms and frames of earth-moving machines. An alternative to serial production, it sets designers and Italian industrial excellence a new kind of challenge.

Bending, welding, finishing. Since its founding in Lecce in 2014, DA A has joined industrial capacity to the skill of the hand, reimagining a rich heritage of metal craftsmanship through a contemporary lens.

Exclusive finishes, enriched with elements such as lapis lazuli, cinnabar and brass, are part of its signature. Handcrafted, they give every piece its own character.

02Designer

Marc Sadler

The designer of ROCK Armchair for DA A. Born in Austria, a French citizen and Italian by adoption. One of the first graduates in industrial aesthetics from ENSAD in Paris, he pioneered material experimentation and the cross-pollination of technologies.

In the early 1970s he developed the first ski boot made entirely of recyclable thermoplastic. From sports equipment, where new materials and processes are explored every day, he carried that knowledge into lighting and furniture. He has won the ADI Compasso d'Oro four times.
